Step inside one of Niagara Falls’ most unique and captivating homes, transformed by the hands of self taught folk artist Prophet Isaiah Robertson. A Jamaican immigrant and devoted man of faith, Isaiah arrived in Niagara Falls in the mid 20th century and worked for years as a carpenter and maintenance worker. In 2005, while serving at Mount Erie Baptist Church, he received what he believed was a divine message to prepare his home for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
From that moment forward, Isaiah began to transform his modest house into a vibrant spiritual sanctuary, adorning every surface inside and out with symbolic religious themed artwork. He often said that God was guiding his hands as he created, and he believed Niagara Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world, would be the site of Christ’s return.
This 90 minute guided tour invites visitors to explore both the interior and exterior of Prophet Isaiah’s evolving masterpiece, including areas not visible from the street. Along the way, we will discuss intuitive art, religious symbolism, preservation of outside art, and what it means to leave a spiritual and creative legacy in the heart of a community.
