About Tuscarora Heroes Monument
This beautiful bronze monument captures a moment from British attack on Lewiston during the War of 1812 when members of the nearby Tuscarora nation heroically saved the lives of dozens of settlers. It is a moving and permanent symbol of thanksgiving to the Tuscarora Nation from a grateful nation. Located in the heart of the Village of Lewiston, it is a reminder of the courage of the Tuscarora Nation.
The Niagara Falls National Heritage Area is one of 62 National Heritage Areas in the United States. Designated by the United States Congress in 2008, its mission is to preserve, protect and promote the historic, natural and cultural resources of the area stretching from Niagara Falls to Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, New York.
